Leona Nitzel

LEONA ANNA MAY NITZEL

Leona Anna May (Biggs) Nitzel was born May 25, 1929 at Hitchcock, Oklahoma to James and Albina Biggs and passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the age of 89.

Leona was a life long resident of the Hitchcock and Watonga community. She graduated from Hitchcock High School. Leona was a rancher, and worked for the Watonga Nursing Home for many years as the Recreation Director. She loved her oil wells and was an avid garage sale shopper always looking for a bargain and nice clothing.

She met her husband Robert Nitzel while working for TG&Y in Watonga. They were married on August 1, 1947 in Okeene, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert; infant twins, Daughter; Beverly Nitzel and three brothers.

Leona is survived by:

Two daughters……………….Shirlene Nitzel of Granbury, TX

Several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Watonga Senior Citizens Center

Graveside services for Leona will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga with Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements.
