JODY JOHN RICKEY

Jody John Rickey was born July 7, 1970 at Watonga, Oklahoma to John and Flo (Barton) Rickey and passed away November 21, 2019 at the age of 49.

Jody was a resident of the Oklahoma City area his entire life, currently employed with Mercy Orthopedic Association. He graduated from Choctaw High School in 1988 and received his bachelor’s from the University of Oklahoma in sports medicine and the went on to Southern Nazarene University for a master’s degree in business. He worked for the Sports Medicine Department for South Western Oklahoma State University, as an athletic trainer for South Moore High School and Redland Community College. Jody was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his father; John, one brother; Larry Rickey and his maternal and paternal grandparents; Earl and Lillian Rickey and Lee and Rena Barton.

He is survived by his mother; Flo of Watonga, Oklahoma

Two sisters…………………Susan Brickman and husband Vernon of Watonga, OK

6 Nephews…………………Scott Rickey, Charlie Brickman, Jerrod Beckloff, Jon Beckloff, Josh Rickey and Tyler Rickey

3 Nieces……………………..Jennifer Strong, Bethany Hubbard, and Lindsey Johnston.

Seventeen great nieces and nephews, two godchildren, as well as numerous friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to the Oklahoma Wildlife Foundation.

Graveside services for Jody will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hobart Rose Cemetery in Hobart, Oklahoma with Vernon Brickman officiating. Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga in charge of arrangements. www.wilkinsonmortuary.com
