In Memory of Irene Nusz

Irene Nusz was born August 18, 1923 at Herrington, KS to Sarah Bierig Reisig and Jake Reisig, and passed away March 5, 2020 at the age of 96.

Irene was a resident of the Okeene community for 81 years and a resident at Saint Katharine Drexel Retirement Center for the last 12 years. During her years, she was a homemaker, a wife and a mother. She attended and graduated from Okeene High School and was a member of the Okeene Mennonite Brethren Church. She was married to Virgil Nusz at the Mennonite Brethren Church of Okeene, OK on February 28, 1946.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Virgil; one son, Rodney, as well as all four of her sisters and her brother.

She is survived by:

One son………………………………………………….. Rodney Nusz and wife Georganna, of Haviland, KS.

One daughter…………………………………………. Sarah Beth Till and Husband, Doug of Denver, CO.

Six Grandchildren…………………………………… Toby A. Till and wife Tammy, Suzanne E. Till Jewett and husband Jason, RJ Nusz and wife, Carissa, Tiffany Nusz Riley and husband, Scott, Lindsay Nusz Min and Husband Dong, and Macklin Nusz.

Fourteen Great-grandchildren……………….. Ty Till, Ethan, Jacob, and Samantha Jewett, Brynn Adley and Kendall Nusz, Noah and Sydney Riley, Calhan, Colston, and Brody Min, Charlestyn and August Nusz.

As well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Irene Nusz will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bierig Cemetery in Okeene, OK with Rev. Bennett Peters officiating. Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene, OK is in charge of arrangements.
