Melvin Lamb

Melvin Allen Lamb, 78, of Watonga, passed away August 29, 2018 after a short bout with cancer.

Allen, as he was known, was born August 27, 1940 to Melvin and Abbie (Speer) Lamb on the Wine Glass ranch north of Roman Nose State Park. He enjoyed a career working with thoroughbred race horses. As a regular exercise rider for some of the top stables in California at the time, he was highly sought after for his natural ability with horses.

Allen is survived by six children, Tracie Louise Lamb, Troy Lecota Lamb, Tammie Elaine Lamb Gonzalez, Timmy James Lamb, all of Grand Junction, Colorado, Trina Candace Lamb, Hemet California, and Mendy Lamb English of Arkansas one brother, Frank Ray Lamb, Wapiti, Wyoming, two sisters, Ruth Lamb Chambers, Tulsa Oklahoma and Trena Elaine Hadjik, Flatonia, Texas. He is also survived by twenty six grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Abbie Lamb, one son Terry Allen Lamb, and one sister Frena Lucita Lamb Vargas.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday September 8, 2018 at East Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Wilkinson Mortuary of Watonga, OK
