In memory of Delores Ann Ewers

DELORES ANN EWERS

Delores Ann Ewers was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on August 14, 1935. She was the oldest of seven children. Dee learned many skills from being the oldest in a large farm family and her ability to learn quickly helped her to be successful in a wide variety of positions including being a telephone operator, working as a saleswoman, making wedding cakes, working as a legal secretary, owning her own successful restaurant, and driving a cross-country semi-truck.

Although she had quite a variety of interests in her life, she was raised knowing the one thing truly needful in life was a relationship with Jesus Christ. Dee was never shy about sharing the wonderful good news of salvation and about her faith.

Dee’s life was filled with many joys, triumphs, and heartbreaks. Through it all she would remind herself and others: “...My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness....” II Corinthians 12:9

Dee went to be with the Lord July 27 with her three girls at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Dorothy Peterson, her brothers Stephen Peterson and Roger Peterson, husband Gene Burghardt, husband Phil Ewers, and great-grandson Noah Kennedy. She is survived by her daughters Teri Baker, Debra Kennedy (husband Arlon Kennedy) both of Watonga, Rachel Freedman (husband Jerry) of Waco, Texas, Teresa Benson (husband Tim) of Prior Lake, MN, son, Don Worrell of Des Moines, five grandsons, and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Delores will be held Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Watonga, OK with Pastor Jim Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga, OK
