Alma Park
Memorial services for Alma Lois Park will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Trinity Baptist Church in Watonga, Oklahoma with Jim Constant officiating. A private family burial will take place later at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Watonga, Oklahoma.
Alma Lois Park was born July 14, 1937, in Greenfield, Oklahoma to Edmund and Althea Thompson, and passed away on April 2, 2024, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Alma was the youngest of seven children. Alma attended school in Greenfield, Oklahoma and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1955.
She met the love of her life and married Thomas Calvin Park on April 6, 1958, at Trinity Baptist Church in Watonga, Oklahoma. She enjoyed life as a homemaker and taking care of their children until Thomas passed away. After his passing, Alma worked at Hoberecht Insurance and Rita’s Country Kitchen in Watonga, Oklahoma and then Midwest Towers in Chickasha, Oklahoma before retiring. After retirement, she moved back home to Watonga, Oklahoma, and was a member of that community until her death.
Alma was an avid fan of OU sports, OKC Thunder basketball, and Texas Rangers baseball. She was full of sports facts and could tell you just about any stat for many of the OU athletes. Alma enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She also enjoyed attending Watonga sporting events. On most days, you could find Alma drinking coffee at Hutch’s or eating at the Eagle’s Nest. She was such a regular that people would worry about her if she wasn’t there. Alma always enjoyed getting a visit from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alma never knew a stranger, and she was never at a loss for words. She was loved by many, and her presence will be missed.
Alma Park was preceded in death by her parents, spouse Thomas Park, sisters, Juanita Davis, Ruth Self, Nadine Olinghouse and newborn Grace, brothers, Gene Thompson, Ray Thompson, and Ed Thompson, grandson Bradley Park, and great-grandson Kale Bruecks.
Alma is survived by her sons; John Park and Jo Lynn of Edmond, OK; Steve Park of Wellston, OK; Mark Park and Sandra of Texas City, TX; Greg Park and Lori of Calumet, OK; David Park and Cyndee of Dalton, GA; Chris Park and Christi of Watonga, OK; grandchildren, Amber Tytenicz and Greg, Tyra Johnson and James, Christy Park and Melissa, Kendra Park-Stilwell, Shelby Beshara and Roland, Matthew Park and Mikaela, Chad Park and Monica, Aubrey Gorman and DJ, Seth Park and Christa, Andrew Park and Nakayla, Kimberly Helton and Tony, Ryan Park and Ruthie, Katarena Park, Austin Park, and Brianna Park; 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild along with numerous nieces and nephews.
