Pamela Dianne Robison-Rickey

Pamela Dianne Robison-Rickey was born Oct. 29, 1948, at Watonga, Okla., to Elmer Gene Robison and Georgia Luella (Cain) Robison and passed away Feb. 6, 2020, at her home at the age of 71. She was a lifetime resident of the Watonga community, where she was the resort/park manager for Roman Nose Resort, later served as general manager for Lake Murray Resort and retired as the assistant director of tourism for the State of Oklahoma.

She attended Southard School, was a graduate of Canton High School and received her education at Union College in Lincoln, Neb. She was married to Lonnie Rickey at Canton, Okla., on Feb. 22, 1969.

During her career with Oklahoma Tourism, she was a recognized leader within the state as an active member of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, the Oklahoma Hotel/Motel Association, Watonga Women’s League and the Watonga Chamber of Commerce. She also served as a role model and mentor for many who have gone on to flourish in the industry.

After retirement, she found her real passions in life: traveling with Lonnie and keeping up with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Gene and Georgia Robison; her maternal grandparents, George and Ivie Cain; and her paternal grandparents, Elmer and Rachel Robison.

She is survived by Lonnie Rickey of the home in Watonga, Okla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Chandra Rickey of Broken Bow, Okla.; her daughter and son-in law, Jennifer and Kevin Strong of Yukon, Okla.; her brothers, Donald G. Robison of Longdale, Okla., and George M. Robison of Watonga; a sister, Linda McPherson of Watonga; and her mother-in-law, Flo Rickey of Watonga.

The apples of her eyes were her grandchildren, Chandler Rickey and wife, Raney, of Broken Bow, and Alyson, Kaitlynn and Zack Strong of Yukon, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Pam Rickey will be Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Watonga Christian Church with Alan Seibel officiating. Burial services will be Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Okla. Wilkinson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, that family has requested memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Cherryvale Cemetery, P.O. Box 13, Canton, OK.
