Jody Frank Billings

Jody Frank Billings passed away on November 29th, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jody was born April 21st, 1957 in Larned, Kansas. Jody and his family moved to Smith Center, Kansas in 1960, and that’s were he grew up and graduated high school in 1975. In 1976 Jody moved to Watonga, Oklahoma were his parents had moved a short time earlier and spent the rest of his life in the Watonga and El Reno area. Jody found employment in the oil field as an equipment operator and truck driver. Jody later starting hauling cattle, and that became his career until a couple of years ago when health issues prevented him from driving. Jody then became a mechanic for the rest of his career. Jody became well known as “Kokomo Joe” to his trucking family. He drove hundreds of thousands of miles delivering cattle across the country.

Jody was preceded in death by his parent’s Frank and Pat Billings, sister Evelyn Seems, brother Bill Billings, and grandson Kale.

Jody is survived by daughter Aubrey and husband Darren Gorman, grandchildren Asher, Lilah, and Elijah, sister Debbie Billings and her daughters Misty Montgomery and family, and Jessica Pearson Smith and family, many nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, December 11th under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary, at 208 North Noble, Watonga, Oklahoma.

He will be laid to rest at Meyers Cemetery near Smith Center, Kansas, Saturday, December 14th next to his parents and brother Bill. There will be a gathering for friends and family at the Vineyard Room, 106 East Kansas Ave. Smith Center, Kansas from 11:30 am till we depart for grave side service scheduled for 2:00 pm at Myers Cemetery under the direction of Simmons-Rentschler Mortuary. Lunch will be provided.

There is no visitation, as cremation was chosen.
