ALVIN ROGER LAMLE
Alvin Roger Lamle was born February 20, 1926 at his family homestead southeast of Okeene to Freida Anna Amelia Goehring and Fred Lamle and passed away March 4, 2021 at the age of 95. His father immigrated from Germany in 1883 and homesteaded in the Cheyenne-Arapaho run. The family homestead is where Alvin resided. He graduated from Okeene High School in 1945 and was a lifetime farmer in the Okeene area. From 1948 to 1973, he worked in construction. Some of the projects included the development of State Highway 8, the Sequoyah Carpet Mill in Watonga, and the K-Mart building in Enid. On April 22, 1955, he married Marlyne Pearl Flaming in Fairview, Oklahoma. Alvin is survived by his sons, Alvin, Jr., of Burlington, Colorado, David and Sandra of Okeene, Eric, and Cindy of Okeene, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one brother, Fred Lamle, Jr., and one sister, Charlotte Bierig. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Marlyne, daughter Lisa Howe, two grandchildren, Darcy Lamle and Marshall Howe, one brother, Edmund Lamle, and one sister, Grace Wisdom.
Funeral service for Alvin will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Okeene with Paster Gaylon Cox officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Cemetery in Okeene with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Okeene.
