Edna Alice McFadden

Edna Alice McFadden was born June 13, 1939, in Los Angeles, CA, to Enos and Betty Haworth. Alice departed this life, to her heavenly home, on Dec 26, 2023, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA, where she was visiting with her daughter’s family. Before starting school, Alice’s family moved back to Okeene, OK, where her dad was originally from. It is in Okeene that she was raised and attended school, although not graduating with her class, she later earned her GED.

On August 14, 1956, Alice married Jere Dean McFadden of Fairview, OK. They were united in Tulsa, OK. Jere served in the military, so they have lived in several states, Tenn, Texas, Md., Ind, Ill, and then back to Okeene, OK when he retired from the military. Alice worked at various jobs during their military time. After returning to Okeene and working at the Okeene Hospital as a nurse’s aide, she decided to attend college at El Reno Jr College of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in May 1985 with high honors. Alice then began her nursing career at the Okeene Hospital, working inpatient area and Home Health. She also worked in the local nursing home as Director of Nursing, before retiring.

In 2000, Alice and Jere moved to Norman, OK, where they were closer to Angela and her family, so that she could help with her twin grandsons and later, a granddaughter. When Angela’s family made a move to Fort Myers, FL in 2016, Alice moved with them and enjoyed continuing to help. In 2021, she moved north to Springhill, FL, with her son, Mike, where she was currently residing. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Jere McFadden, in 2003, both of her parents, an infant daughter and a grandson, Patrick Bowen.

Surviving are a son, Mike (Tina) McFadden, of Springhill, FL, Daughter In Law, Lisa McFadden, of Yukon, OK; three daughters, Connie (Larry) Knopp of Okeene, OK, Cammie Bruster of Edmond, OK, Angela (Geoff) Bowen of Douglasville, GA; two brothers, Richard (Karen) Haworth of Okeene, OK, Wesley (Joan) Haworth of Lawton, OK; Grandchildren, Deanna Knopp, Pete (Bambi) Knopp, Russ (Allison) Knopp, Pete (Chelsea) Bruster, Luke (Cassie) Bruster, Jacob (Britani) Bruster, Zach (Candic) Bruster, Ben (Samantha) Bruster, Katie (Dave) Matthews, Tim McFadden, Cody (Chyanna) McFadden, Desiree (Juan) Cabrera, Eric Bowen, Dannielle Woodie, Blake Bowen, Brandon (Kaitlyn) Bowen, Makayla (Trevor Prentice) Bowen; Bonus Grandchildren, Toni Gutierrez, Christina Gutierrez, Kimberly (Jessica) Medina, Leslie (Tanner) Bretches and 38 Great Grandchildren.

Viewing will be available Saturday, Dec 30, 2023, from 2 to 8 pm. Family and out of town guests may view at 10 am on Tuesday, January 2. Alice will be laid to rest at a Graveside Service on January 2, 2024, at 1 pm at Collins Cemetery, northeast of Okeene, OK, with Gaylon Cox, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Mortuary of Okeene.
