In Memory of Kenneth Slaght

Kenneth was born on the farm southeast of Okeene on September 7th, 1928 to Milo and Delpha (Nusz) Slaght and passed away October 25, 2020 at the age of 92.

He attended 12 years at Okeene Public Schools and graduated in 1947. Upon graduation, he worked for 13 years for Farmer Coop and hauled grain to the port in Houston for Ralph Brickman. He worked in the oil field to support the farm and in 1985, purchased his own semi-truck. He hauled grain and flour for the Okeene Mill and continued farming and trucking until 2015. In 2008 he was inducted into the Blaine County Hall of Fame and owned two farms listed on the Oklahoma Centennial Register. He married Mildred Jantzen on February 13th, 1949 and celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, J.W. Slaght, a sister, Bonita Young, and his wife, Mildred.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Taylor, of Okeene, and Sandra Dahlem and husband, Nathan of Okeene, OK; three grandchildren, Trevor Taylor and wife Lillie, of Okeene, Rachel Dahlem of OKC and Andy Dahlem of Okeene; 2 great-grandchildren, Hayden Taylor and Wyatt Dahlem. He is also survived by one sister, Barbara Bierig and husband Richard, of Fairview, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Randolph, of Enid, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Kenneth Lee Slaght will be held Monday, November 2nd, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Harvest Church in Okeene, OK with Pastor Duane Berg officiating and Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
