Leroy Bautista Lovato

Leroy Bautista Lovato was born August 29, 1940, at Canjilon, New Mexico, to Isidore Lovato and Thelma Snow, and passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the age of 84.

Leroy was a resident of the Watonga community for 47 years, where he was a supervisor in the oilfield. He attended school and in 1971, attained his GED. Leroy was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Watonga, as well as attending the Oasis Church in Watonga. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed the time he spent outside fishing and hunting in Colorado, where he grew up. That love of the outdoors continued, and it was a great joy of his to go out fishing with his sons and grandkids.

Leroy was a hard worker and provider for his family. He had an incredible talent for woodworking, knife making, and furniture building. He was also a good part of the Watonga community, owning his own Mexican Restaurant and Laundromat Service in town. Recently, though, he had retired and was helping care for his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Don from Guthrie, OK; Lorraine, Shawn and wife Sandra, Mitchell and fiancé Mckenzy, all from Watonga, OK; Brothers, Harold and wife Elsa and Manuel; sisters, Annabell, Joan and Kathy.  Ten grandchildren, Bolton, Briley, Shade, Blain and wife Sadie, Levi, Vlaid, Saphira, Blaze, Zac and wife Danielle, Ashley and husband Cody; great grandchildren Nelly and Lucille as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Leroy will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Oasis Church in Watonga, with Pastors Doug Jackson and Dwayne Richey officiating. The burial will follow at East Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Watonga, with Wilkinson Mortuary handling the arrangements.
