Ronald (Ron) Len Haffner was born on August 24th, 1937, in Canton, OK to Clyde and Cassie Haffner, and passed away on May 20th, 2025, at the age of 87. He was a resident of Okeene, OK for 55 years and lived the last two years near his daughter, René, in Orlando, Florida. Ron was married to Nancy Ruth Dean in Wichita Kansas on June 4th, 1960. He had two children - a son Nathan Owen born in 1961 and daughter Rhonda René born in 1963.
Ron received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1961. He and Nancy owned Haffner Drug in Okeene for 30 years where Ron was the Pharmacist until they retired in 2000. He was a member of Zion Baptist church for over 40 years where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Ron had a love for farming and ranching and continued to farm his boyhood home place west of Canton until his recent move to Florida. He had a deep love for the Lord, his family (especially his three granddaughters!), music, and laughter. He lived a life full of love, service, and blessing to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Weldon Haffner, and his son Nathan Haffner. He is survived by his wife Nancy, his daughter René and husband Gene of Orlando, FL; his sister Colleen Montag of Wichita Kansas; granddaughters Ashley Mohns and husband Brian of Gray, TN; Allison Babb of Bentonville, AR; Alesha Bray and husband Cody of Running Springs, CA; and 4 great grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held 2pm, Wednesday, May 28th at Zion Baptist Church in Okeene, OK with Pastor Tim Koehn and Mark Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in the Fountain Cemetery west of Canton, OK with Wilkinson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
The viewing will be on Tuesday, May 27th until 8 p.m. The family will be present for visitation from 6:30-8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Baptist Church, Okeene, OK.
